Content design is central to the success of digital products, apps, and interfaces. Some indicators of effective content design include:

Task Completions/Success Rate

How many users are successfully completing key tasks? These tasks could range from adding items to a cart to creating an account or completing a process. A percentage that is increasing over time is a good sign of effective content design. Also consider how long on average it is taking them to achieve the goal. A decrease in this area would be a positive sign.

Abandonment/Churn Rates

Abandonment occurs when users install your  app to their device but never actually use it. Churn refers to the percentage of users who stop using your product or app after signing up. Low abandonment or churn rates can indicate effective content design.

Daily/Monthly Active Users

Retention is a key indicator of effective content design. The more often users are logging in and engaging, the more likely it is that they are finding your UI and content to be intuitive and useful.

Error Rates

If users are frequently encountering errors in your interface, this may be a result of poor content design. This figure can be calculated by dividing the number of errors by the number of attempts made.

NPS

Net Promoter Score is a score that measures how likely someone is to recommend a product. It is calculated by the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors. (To determine these numbers, users are asked to rank a product from 0-10 etractors are those who score it 0-6 and promoters are those who give it 9-10.) A higher NPS score could indicate effective content design.
